1968 Ford Mustang GT Fastback (Bullitt)
“You work your side of the street and I’ll work mine.” – Frank Bullitt
Bullitt is a 1968 crime thriller. The IMDB description reads simply “An all guts, no glory San Francisco cop becomes determined to find the underworld kingpin that killed the witness in his protection.” … This is probably the shortest description ever for such a great movie.
In keeping with that description, this movie has one of the greatest car chases with one of the greatest cars. The 1968 390 V8 Ford Mustang GT fastbacks (325 hp) with a four-speed manual transmission was originally used but later updated to a 1968 375 hp 440 Magnum V8-powered Dodge Charger to handle stunts better in the movie according to the Bullitt wiki page.
“You are living in a sewer Frank, day after day. With you, living with violence is a way of life.” – Cathy (Jacqueline Bisset)
