2 Warplanes (Krasnodar, Russia)
The monument “Two warplanes” is located at the intersection of Turgenev street and Jan Poluyan street, near Turgenev’s square in the city of Krasnodar, Russian Federation.
Commemorative structure in the form of two MiG-21, installed on a podium on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the Victory over fascism in recognition of the air forces of the country. Supersonic combat fighter, created by Mikoyan and Gurevich, made its first flight on 16 June 1956. Mass production of the aircraft with a Delta wing with low cost (1959-1985) has made a breakthrough in aircraft. Such aircraft were produced in India, China, Czechoslovakia and Russia. The MiG-21 was used in the resolution of many armed conflicts and, of course, to patrol airspace a vast country.
An unusual monument in Krasnodar, called the “Two warplanes”, is a historic landmark and a reminder of the tremendous technical achievement of the Soviet people, and for modern citizens – ornament of a city block.
