Mercato delle Vettovaglie
The construction of this huge market began in the late XIX Century, in an area which was adjacent to the center of the city of Livorno (Leghorn). They begun to build it in the year 1890, and in 1894 it was already finished. The building itself is an interesting representation of the “steel and glass” style, famous in northern Europe.
It’s said that the artist master Amedeo Modigliani, rent a room in the upper floors in 1909.
Nowadays is the main market of the city, and it offers a wide variety of food.
P.S: The model has no lights because it’s a market: during the night is closed.
