3D Cinema [RollerCoaster Tycoon]
A recreation of the iconic 3D Cinema featured in RollerCoaster Tycoon (1999) and its sequel. The theaters main dome consists of more than 280 triangular faces locked into a geodesic pattern. Who doesn’t want a bright glowing orb in their city?
While I was tempted to add more details to the building, I wanted to stay true to the clean, angular look. Geometrically, the dome is a perfect replica, featuring the same icosahedron layout. What I did change to the overall design, was to extend the rear end of the base, adding some emergency exits / personnel entrances. The original has windows on all sides and only one main entrance, which I thought wouldn’t end up looking very realistic in an urban environment.
The theater comes in a number of illuminated colors.
