Inspired by the awesome Arrowhead Junction Map and Theme, Here is my take on a Southwest USA map.
The heightmap was taken from a mostly untouched area in Nevada, not too far from Hoover dam. The river and lake were added in later. The map itself is mainly open desert in the middle surrounded by mountains and hills. The Hopi River snakes along the map broken up by the big lake in the Southeast.
