Amsterdam Central Station
UPDATE: Now with transparent glass!
Travel in style with this large 6 track European Station. Platforms are covered by two large arched canopy roofs. This train station served its first passengers in Amsterdam in 1889 and today serves 260,000 passengers per day. Designed by Pierre Cuypers, this building has more than a passing resemblance to his other landmark Amsterdam building, the Rijksmuseum.
Please note you have to subscribe to the Extra Train Station Tracks mod and you have to enable it to use this building. If not you will get a ‘NetInfo missing’ error.
WARNING: this asset is incompatible with the Spawn Points Fix mod by bloodypenguin. Outside trains will stop at the ends of the platforms instead of the middle. For the moment, you’ll have to choose between using that mod or using my station.
Tech details: I created the main building as a single asset, even though it is bigger than the maximum plot size allowed by the game. The platforms consist of two sub-buildings. Finally I used two nearly empty sub-buildings on each end of the main building to expand the size of the plot to accommodate the main building.
The main building has 8357 triangles and a 2048 x 2048 texture. The lod has 460 triangles and 256 x 256 texture. Platform sub buildings have 6713 triangles and a 2048 x 512 texture. The lod has 546 triangles 256 x 128 texture. In total this adds up to a 16MB asset for a building with an effective 28 x 17 plot size.
