New Boston
Welcome to my first custom map, New Boston! The map started as a copy of the Boston area used in Fallout 4, but I modified it to suit my own game plans, to the point where it no longer resembles Boston, but I kept the name anyway. I wanted a map that was aesthetically pleasing aswell as functional to start a new After Dark city.
Features:
– Hydroelectric Dam friendly.
– Combined Water Source & Sewage Drain.
– Handcrafted farming appearance, so that your city looks good while you expand.
– Plentiful and balanced Fertile, Forest, Oil & Ore. Spread evenly on the map to give many build options.
– Custom Interchange, combining the benefits of a Four Level Stack and Whirlpool Interchange.
– Full external Highway, Rail, Air and Sea connections.
– Lots of interesting build areas including islands, mountains, beaches, plateaus, and plenty of flat land.
Play Notes (see supporting images):
– There is a resevior west of the starting tile that I have created as a combined Water Source & Sewage Drain. It has a max strength Water Source to the north, and a Sewage Drain to the south. I have tested it with over 30 pumps without affecting water levels. Not sure the what the maximum number is, but it should cover your cities water needs well into the game.
– I have added a waterfall to the large river at the far north of the map that will support a 600-800MW Hydroelectric Dam. Place your Dam just in front of the waterfall (about 8-10 grid squares away), and it will level perfectly without affecting the river flow.
– Wind Power locations are max strength along the coast in the starting tile.
– Map has been play tested to ensure all connections and water features work well.
– Map is intended to be used with the 25 tile mod. Not required, but you will miss most of the good features if you don’t use it.
