Cantil Valley Europe
This is a European version of the the Boreal map. There are no significant changes between the two, outside of obvious differences between trees/roads/water sources. Be warned that the water simulation in this version of the map runs into minor issues with the rivers bottoming out by the ocean for around sixty seconds once every hour or so real time.
Cantil Valley was designed with the basic goal of having interesting, realistic looking terrain without sacrificing much playability. Only four of its tiles are the fertile valley itself, while the rest consist of the various mountains, valleys, and mesas surrounding it. Almost every piece of terrain is placed with the intent of setting up a scenic overlook or a level place to build.
The map is designed with the 25 tile mod in mind. All 25 tiles should at least be somewhat viable to purchase, while the initial tile should offer several potential paths for expansion.
Oil is not available on the map due to me personally disliking its texture. The other two resources and every transportation type are present.
There are several rivers on the map. However, the water level in each one is quite low. Building dams or too many pumps will not end well. The water to support large populations can safely be taken from one of the mountain lakes.
There is roughly a 40,000 spare tree budget available. If this is not enough deleting sections of hedgerows should free up a large number of trees.
