Cobblestone Pedestrian/Shared Street
Inspired by the Via Dante pedestrian street in Milan, Italy, this elegant cobblestone pedestrian / shared street is perfect for pedestrianizing your city’s streets. Complements my existing cobblestone wavy and straight small roads linked in the collection above. No mods other than Modern Lighting Pack were used in the screenshots – no custom LUTs, map themes, buildings, or props. What you see is what you get – just click the road upgrade tool and you will have exactly the same thing.
By default, both vehicles and pedestrians will use the road. Vehicles will use the cobblestone portion in the middle while pedestrians will use the entire width of the road. Pedestrians will automatically swerve to avoid vehicles. As the speed limit is very low at 10 km/h, most vehicles other than service vehicles will use alternative roads.
If you want to disallow vehicles, use Traffic Manager: President Edition by LinuxFan
You can use it as a pedestrian street or shared street by modifying restrictions.
- No manual placement of props and decals! – 6.7 MB custom model and textures
- Cobblestone road texture
- Pavement tile texture
- Uses Triple Lamp Post and lighted bollards from Modern Lighting Pack by GCVos
- Benches, trash cans and other street props randomly appear
- Bollards appear when joining to another type of road
- Cobblestone junction/intersection when joining same type of road
- Ground level only – use other roads for elevated, bridge, slope and tunnel
- RHD and LHD supported
- 16m (2 tiles) wide right-of-way, 2x 8m pedestrian lane, 2x 4m vehicle lane, no parking
- Speed limit 10 km/h
- Costs $60/cell, upkeep $0.48/week/cell
- Bus stop support (sign only, no bus bay)
- Found under small roads, look for icon as shown in preview image
- If you use Network Skins to change the lamp posts, the bollards will also change to your selected lamp post. If you must change to another lamp post, fix this problem by changing to another bollard prop of your choice in the road editor.
- Warped cobblestone texture at junctions/intersections. I can fix this by using the game default pavement or road texture for the node model, but I thought using cobblestone was better and it looked acceptable enough so I stuck with it.
- Wrong node model (used for junctions/intersections) when joining to highway roads. This cannot be fixed. In order to have different node and transition models, I had to choose a base category of roads to start from. Because I think it is highly unlikely that anyone will join this pedestrian street to a highway, I chose the highway category. Therefore the transition model will be used when joining to all other types of roads except for highways, and the node model will be used when joining to its own type and highway roads.
