Dageraad Amsterdam Social Housing
Build whole cityblocks in the building style of the ‘Amsterdamse School’ with this set of 6 buildings that fit together seamlessly. The RICO mod is required to use these buildings. Some use of the Move-it mod can help to get perfect alignment, especially on ground that isn’t completely flat.
The building complex ‘De Dageraad’ (Translation: The Dawn) was built in 1922 by architects Michiel de Klerk and Piet Kramer. It is one of the first and most extravagant examples of the Amsterdamse School building style. These buildings were meant to improve over the sometimes poor living conditions for lower income people in Amsterdam at the time. Sometimes described as labourers palaces, the architects used plain materials like brick and rooftiles to create intricate and organic shapes with curved surfaces.
Most of the Amsterdam South neighborhood was eventually built in the Amsterdamse School building style, though because of cost concerns straight lines eventually won out over curved. ‘De Dageraad’ together with the building complex ‘Het Schip’ stand as the purest and craziest examples examples of the Amsterdamse School building style and are protected as monuments in the present day.

All buildings share the same textures so if you use the highly recommended Loading Screen mod, not only will your cities load faster, but these buildings will require a lot less memory.
