Die Stadt- und Landesbibliothek Dortmund gehört zu den großen Bibliotheken in städtischer Trägerschaft und befindet sich zentral gelegen in der Dortmunder Innenstadt, direkt gegenüber dem Hauptbahnhof. Die Zentralbibliothek wurde vom Architekten Mario Botta aus Lugano in der Schweiz entworfen und im Mai 1999 bezogen.

The Central Library of Dortmund is one of the largest libraries owned by a City and and is centrally located in the center of Dortmund, directly opposite of the main railway station. The Central Library was designed by the architect Mario Botta from Lugano in Switzerland and has been finished in May 1999.
