Fjand
Located in the most western reaches of Denmark, Fjand is where my childhood was spent every summer on my ventures back to visit my relatives and homeland. The town from which this map is named is principally a summer retreat wedged against along the long sliver of beach braced against the North Sea. It’s no tropical paradise as you can imagine, but many Germans consider this an ideal holiday destination!
Forgive my artistic licence; there are nowhere near as many trees, castles nor ring forts in reality, but I thought it’d liven things up a bit.
Designed for small village building & detailing in mind; national roads from the Network Extensions Project are in use instead of highways.
Highly recommend the 81 tiles mod. Looks best with TROPICITY map theme by OWL.
Features
• North Sea Beaches: Famous for their refreshing effect on the nether regions and a tendency to blow kite fliers away.
• Sheltered Sea Harbour: Previously a fishing harbour, now largely a ghost town with a museum to a sunk English 2nd rate[en.wikipedia.org] (genuine!). Can you revive the economy of the region?
• WWII Bunkers: The remnants of Hitler’s attempt to defend the northern coasts from allied attack. Three quarters of a century later the elements have sunk and scattered these concrete behemoths across the landscape (again genuine!).
• Viking Ring Fortress: Haven’t heard of one of these in Cities Skylines have you? Well here you go! (Modelled on Trelleborg[en.wikipedia.org] in Slagelse)
• Medieval Castle: Totally unrealistic for Denmark as we largely skipped the medieval fad of building castles. But who can resist!

NOTICE: Only two of the 4 external road connections are non-functional (both on the opposite side to the sea). Whilst not originally intentional, agusingnavy pointed out that this does indeed leave some free connections for you to make yourself! ?
