Flatiron Building (for Plaza)
The legendary Flatiron Building from New York City. Located at the meeting point of the Fifth Avenue, Broadway and East 22nd Street, with 23rd Street grazing the triangle’s northern peak. It is one of the oldest skyscrapers (built 1902) and was one of the tallest building upon completion with its 91m (21 floors). The pointed end of the building has an angle of about 25 degrees. The special shape of it lead to its name “Flatiron” building (original name is Fuller Building).

I put a lot of effort into the building and the details. You may notice the ornaments and friezes around the face of the building. Although I concentrated on putting the details into the normal maps, the building itself has approx. 10,000 polygons due to the different parts of every wall showing other detailed textures. This just as an explanation of why the file is proportionally big.
Stats: little less than 10,000 polygons, diffuse+normal+specular+alpha maps (all png-format, all 2048×1024 sized)

It is 1:1 scaled!
Unique Building: No milestone to unlock it. Can be found under Level V (although in the asset editor it says level 6…)
Statistics:
Construction cost: 250,000
Maintenance cost: 640 (4,000 in the asset editor… don’t know why it’s so much less in the game)
Electricity: 35
Tourists: 300/300/300
Water/Sewage: 15
Workers: 17 / 25 / 29 / 20 (uneduc. / educ. / well educ. / highly educ.)
Attractiveness Accumulation: 17
Entertainment Accumulation: 110

This object is only useful in combination with the two Plazas available in my workshop, too: “Flatiron Building Plaza A” and “Flatiron Building Plaza B”. I strongly recommend subscribing them, too

This building is not rectangular (as you might have noticed already^^). This calls for a special way to build it. For this reason I created a tutorial video (see above) to show you how I thought it would be the best way to fit it into the road layout. In this version the two plazas must be placed as well; so I recommend watching the video or try it yourself and be creative ;).

Because there is another version of the Flatiron Building I made (see here). It is the same building but with a slightly other ground plot (it has 4×3 tiles instead of 4×4). This makes it easier to build the roads almost directly alongside the building.

First of all: It could happen that the Flatiron Building is removed from your city, if you already placed it. If so, I’m very sorry that this happened. I don’t know why, it could be a bug in Cities: Skylines when updating an existing building. It will be the only planned update so it won’t happen again.
What was updated? I removed a lot of polygons (from 12,500 down to ca. 9,800). And I reduced the texture maps from 2048×2048 pixels to 2048×1024. This brings the filesize down from 13.5 mb to 9.2 mb.
Both were done to increase the performance of the game. The details of the building are still there, only the distance were the textures gets blurry decreases a bit (depending on your settings).
