THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THIS MAP FOR SOME. Unfortunately I cannot fix them even with an update. I’ve tried with other maps from this same time period. Back then we had lots of problems with map themes. Here is the advice that *might* work for you, but realize it’s going to take some time. I suggest looking for another map, lots of beautiful tropical maps to choose from
There are no custom trees here (due to a current issue), so nothing else is required!
Subscribe to the map and the theme independently.
When you select “start a new game”, to get the same South Pacific look to your city, you must select the theme “Miyagi Polynesia Gen II” (or any other theme based on tropical that you wish to have), then start. You can also just play this with a regular Tropical theme. When it says “Warning, bla bla bla do you want to use a default tropical theme?” just hit ok. Don’t let the word warning scare you ?
Sorry for the extra step and for not being able to share the decorated version, but this avoids some quirky problems experienced by players currently. I made a tutorial on how to make your own coral reefs, I’ll be really glad to see others start doing this! Please let me know if anything doesn’t go right, i’ll try to help!

Harapan Island – Island of Hope. This map is an interesting project. A lot of Indonesian players wanted another map from their country. So many nice requests, and such beautiful islands!
Indonesia is a giant country with so many cultures, languages, religions all together. So what I did is I took the heightmap of Pulau Padar (next to Komodo) and combined it with the dramatic uplifted coral features of Raja Ampat way over by West Papua, and completed the fusion with level land for our cities.
************Features
You will see many familiar motifs from prior maps. I did this because many are currently broken, even for me. There are some nice changes though:
– Lots more totally flat central space for spreading out
– Significant pre-built infrastructure including a helpful traffic management intersection (see image on traffic flow)
– A true island – All connections to the map edges are fun through tunnels. Although we have to have connections to the edges, this great solution by Agusingnavy and BloodyPenguin allows us to simulate truly being on an island. Genius!
– The highest waterfalls in Skylines? We’re sure there’s someone who has beat the nearly 700meter drop, but they sure are high in any event.
I could not (and purposefully did not) include all the decoration I used to for Paradise Reef for example. Why? At the moment maps using custom trees or mods are a bit problematic, but I think we finally may have an answer as to why. I’ll post the reason on the affected maps once the solution is published (it’s a fix that a modder is working on, works great so far).
So in sum, the goal of this map is to get you a Pacific tropical map without causing you (and me!) issues so we can continue to have problem free fun.

Decorated Version: I usually have a decorated “modded version” of the map, which I tried to do but ended up with lots of problems. So, if I have the energy, I will make a save game file instead, with a list of items to subscribe to and a system of initial roads (including difficult mountain roads, my favorite to build). We’ll see if I can get that far.
***************THANKS AND CREDITS:
Thanks: There are SO many community members out there to thank, and a whole list of items that creators have contributed to make this map and the mages here possible. In order to do so and to recognize each, I’ve made a collection list for all of these amazing creations.
If I’ve missed yours let me know so I can add it!
