Keralis’ House [RICO]
Happy Birthday Keralis! I made this to show my appreciation towards your Cities Skylines Youtube series.
This is a model of the home of the famous youtuber Keralis and his family. You can watch his youtube video, if you’d like to check his house out:
If you haven’t watched his CSL Youtube series yet, I strongly encourage you to do so, if you have the time!
Practical information:
The building is best used on a slight slope. Do the following to achieve the optimal aesthetics:
-Make sure the ground is mostly flat and place a road
-plop the building down
-use the terraform tool to slightly lower the ground at the back of the model (~1-2 meters). The optimal elevation is reached when all of the railing next to the stairs at the back is visible. Not more, not less. (See the image) There are more steps below, so you can make the ground even lower if you want.
Mods and assets:
This asset uses the ploppable RICO mod, this mod is required to use this building. It allows you to place it just manually, but still have people living in the house.
I advice you to use the “remove sprites” mod, otherwise you might have grass sticking through the model. It is however not required to use be able to use this asset.
The required props that are listed are for aesthetic purposes, the building still works without them.
Technical information:
Model: 3.275 triangles 2048x2048px texture
(Custom) LOD: 130 triangles 256×256 custom LOD texture
Model: Diffuse map, Illumination map, Specular map and Reflection map
LOD: Diffuse map, Specular map and Illumination map
NOTE: Everything below ground level can’t be textured in CSL, hence the grey textures below ground level.
Stats:
L3 LowRes
1 family (3-5 people)
contstruction cost: 15000 (if this is too much or too little, please let me now)
P.S. The screenshots above are slightly outdated. The model you can download here has less and some other props. The new model is also a little bit lower and the texture is darker because it was too bright in the European biome, which is the one Keralis uses.
