Königstal with Neuschwanstein’s Mountain, Handpainted Terrain
Nicely fitting with the style of the new European buildings, the Alps of Switzerland, Germany and Austria are the setting for this new hand-sculpted map, which includes a fantasy rock formation to place your Neuschwanstein! Verdant, lush lands look even greener because of the nice contrast of the dark conifer forests.
– Many valleys separated by steep mountain ridges, as well as little hills to place Alpine villages. Almost like several maps in one! Many different views and scenes to experience and build, from extremely high (top of peaks) to valley lakeshore.
– Handpainted terrain “sunshine” as in my other maps, as well as painted and treed farm plots placed on areas that are sloped, so they won’t get in the way of your city.
– Hope you’re not afraid of heights! Neunschwanstein rock has road access and fits the castle with room to spare for access road to the front. It is covered with trees and is thus much more attractive. If you’d like to know how I fully treed steep mountain walls, leave a comment! ?
– There are many, many more locations for great buildings and scenic little villages, as well as enough level space in the valley for a decent city.
– Roads up hills to villages are already laid down using Highway Ramps. Just upgrade the road to your choice (usually 2 lane is best). I learned this idea from Kold (see note at bottom). The terrain and how to get up the hills is MUCH harder in this map, which is why I included these pre-set guideroads. Delete if you want, of course.
– Oil and Ore are, as usual, well hidden from all view behind a mountain range. You will have to make tunnels to get to that section. There is enough forestry to make you the world leader in lumber, so you’ll have enough income to pay for tunnels.
– Water is not a problem here, the start area’s “ocean” access has a full blast water spawn to whoosh that sewage away as fast as it comes out. Just remember to put your water intake “upstream” of current (best location is right where sea ends in a point)
As with many maps I have made, there are many, many little interesting areas built in. See the guide map with all the locations marked. Great views from these locations!
My roads have improved much, thanks to the significant amount of time Kold spent helping me. Check out one of his beautiful, superbly crafted map here:
