Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
(NOTE: I may update this map sometimes, changes are recorded in ‘Change Notes’)
***VERY IMPORTANT!!*** I know wastewater drainage is a huge challenge for this map. You would very likely suffer from floods at some point, as the city only has one major river, and it’s pretty narrow. You would have to place water pumps downstream (after water drain pipe and/or water treatment plant) to overcome floods…connect them with pipes to each other, but don’t connect to the main city pipes! It would cause contamination to your city’s water supply. This way, the pumps would suck in water and ensure the river flow is controlled.)

Greetings, Skyliners!
I’m pleased to share my map of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Home of the famous Petronas Towers, KL is my hometown and where I live.
The playable 25 tiles (100km2) were scaled to include 99.5% of KL proper (243km2), and the outlying suburbs of Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Batu Caves, Ampang and Cheras (all part of the nearby state of Selangor). The outer map extends to Rawang (north), Shah Alam (west) and Kajang (southeast). The Titiwangsa mountain range forms a natural boundary in the east. Overall, this map represents most of Greater Kuala Lumpur (aka Klang Valley).
It contains nearly all major freeways, highways and expressways within the map range, criss crossing one another. They were all rendered with Google Maps accuracy to the best of my ability. To name some, they are:
– MRR1 (Jalan Tun Razak – Jalan Mahameru – Jalan Istana)
– Jalan Kuching
– MRR2
– AKLEH
– DUKE
– NKVE
– North-South Expressway (PLUS)
– Federal Highway
– SPRINT
– LDP
– NPE
– Penchala Link (Note: Due to lack of tunnels in Map Editor, it is unconnected at the hill. You would need to connect them in-game with tunnels)
and many, many more!
All flyovers and intersections were modelled as realistically as how they appear in real world.
KTM rail tracks are available. However, there are no LRT and the upcoming MRT lines in this map as the game lacks elevated train stations.
Starting tile is at the centre where the Klang/Gombak confluence is located. Historically, the city was founded there. I would recommend purchasing the tile to the east first to complete the CBD that is within the MRR1 loop.
There are around half a dozen water sources that make up the rivers in the map. A dam can be built at the Klang Gates in the northeast. Though, no ship routes exist as all the rivers are narrow.
Please suscribe, rate, favourite and comment! All feedbacks are welcome and I will consider every suggestion for improvement.
Enjoy playing this map!
