Medium Airport Terminal Pack

Basic Info

This is a collection of buildings for a medium airport terminal. It should be noted that these are not functional, and are listed as transportation buildings, so they do not generate tourism.

Additionally, these assets do not have jetbridges attached to them.

The terminal is setup for a single level road, with no spoke concorses for gates. Obviously though, those assets can be added (by clipping them into these assets) to provide an arbitrary modular configuration.

For reference, the airport that these models are based on primarily services 737s, A320s, and Embriers (ERJ-145, ERJ-170, ERJ-190). Servicing those planes, it has 10 gates, where gate 1 is split into 1a,1b,1c for 3x ERJ-145 spots.

Performance

In terms of performance, all the models in the pack use a 1024×1024 texture (diffuse, specular, normal, illumination), along with a 128×128 LOD texture (diffuse, specular, illumination). For this reason, I highly recommend using the loading screen mod, which should recognize that they all use the same texture and only load it once.

This is the same texture as in my Large Airport Terminal Pack.

Placement

The main terminal building is in 3 pieces (From right to left, T1, T2, T3). All of the pieces have polys on each side, and can therefore be used alone, or in any combination.

The building that this model is based on does have protrusions on the T1 section for jetbridges. The Gate2 asset from my Large Airport Terminal Pack can be used for those.

Note that these parts needed to be clipped into each other, so they will require anarchy to be enabled.

Comments on Functionality

As stated above, this asset is not functional. I do not plan on making this asset functional, since it really needs to be multiple parts, and the asset editor is annoying.

As an alternative, I recommend using the simple plane-stand asset by Zoffy88:
These can be placed around the outside of the terminal, and a 1-way road can be hidden inside of the buildings, which provides the road connection.

Known Bugs

For some reason, the normal map did not appear on some of the models… I am not sure what went wrong here (I suspect the asset editor has a bug). I might go through and try to fix those assets, but the lack of normal map is not particularly noticable unless viewing from low angles.
