Monaco with Provence Theme
Welcome to the next Microstate! Thanks to BigBadNonja, Owl and Saamrocks11 for their help, encouragement and inspiration on making this map and theme!
Get inspiration for your city: interactive multiple 360* bird’s eye views across the entire principality can be found at this link. It’s a must see!
Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, and the most densely populated country in the world! Monaco clings to the edge of a dramatic shoreline. If ever there were a challenging terrain map for a real city, this would be the one! It’s beautiful in-game once it starts developing. Monaco has done much land reclamation out to sea, as well. Talk about a challenge! Are you up for it? This map is expanded so that you have more room to simulate Monaco and enjoy the map. At normal scale it was really cramped and did not make a fun map.
To help you along, you will notice the entirety of the Principality as well as up the rest of the hill has been thoroughly terraced by hand. This makes it easier to use in the game, especially if you don’t have a terrain altering mod, but also because flat steps just work better in this game.
(FYI Terraform Tool 0.8 Mod is dead!) Even though it’s been prepared quite a bit, I really recommend having the Extra Landscaping Tools mod by BloodyPenguin for this map. It allows you to alter terrain and SO much more. Although you can certainly use this map without that mod and even without the map theme, it is a lot of fun sculpting this terrain to match your growng Monaco.. Find the landscaping mod here:
See the images for information on more details and special functions included in the map.
Thanks to BigBadNonja, Owl and Saamrocks11 for their help, inspiration and enthusiasm, which helped this project reach completion.
– The F1 race items you see can be found at Crisgame’s collection here. They have been updated and work great:
– Try a selection of the South of France homes for the hills overlooking Monaco or any other area you wish!
– If you want to have a way to place more pavement manually, you can use brick pavement Boformer’s decal prop, It matches it very closely color wise (this was on purpose ? ). The tiling, but I gave it a try and kept it pretty close. You can find that here:
– Here are some additional pavement decals by Big Bad Nonja and boformer that I will aim to match color and / or pattern-wise in future themes, until I can successfully make my own decals like these:

Updated 27-Feb-2016 Removed odd coastal highway. Traffic will be more of a challege until you expand one square north to be able to split up the highways. All three remaining highway connections merge to feed into the one that links to your start square.
