New York City
This is a 1:1 scale map of central New York City. I use this map in my Realistic NYC project. It includes Manhattan, large parts of Brooklyn and Queens and the southern tip of the Bronx – as well as a small part of New Jersey. The map extends from Hackensack in NJ in the west, eastwards to include Riker’s Island and La Guardia Airport, and from Saint Mary’s Park up north to Prospect Park in the south.
The base for this map is a heightmap downloaded from . I modified the height map by overlaying it with a street grid generated from a custom Google map, so all streets are marked by slightly elevated terrain. I’ve kept the terrain pretty rough since I use the Extra Landscaping Tools and Infinite Money mods to tweak the landscape in-game, so I suggest you do the same if you want to use this map – don’t expect smooth coastal lines.
The map has highway, train, plane and ship connections. However, all ground connections stop shortly after entering the map from the edges, so you have to use the 81 Tiles mod to connect those properly.
The map has proper water flow, East and Hudson rivers flow southwest into the bay with a strong current.
There are no natural resources on the map, so if you want those you’ll have to use a mod as well.
