Office of Federal President
The Office of the Federal President (Bundespräsidialamt) is an elliptical building in Berlin that was completed in 1998. The President’s staff of around 200 people work in this glass and granite office, located conveniently next to the Presidential Palace (Schloss Bellevue). The roof is covered in photovoltaic cells to reduce energy consumption. The dark and highly reflective exterior makes a strong contrast to the light filled interior.

I made this building because I couldn’t find any oval shaped buildings in the workshop. Features:
- minimal triangles & smart edge smoothing
- front entrance foyer, 12 rear balconies, 2 rear door cutouts
- hand-made normal map to make the solar panels on the roof appear angled toward the sun
- color map with 4 color variations: sky blue, black granite, red granite, and dark blue
- illumination map with 4 night light patterns
- minimal props for maximum customization
- hand-crafted simple LOD model
