Robert Taylor Homes
Constructed in Chicago, Ill. from 1961-62, this 28 building public housing project stretched for 2 miles along the Dan Ryan expressway on the city’s south side. Plagued by rampant poverty and gang violence, all 28 buildings were demolished in the late 90’s though the early 2000’s. Robert Taylor Homes was considered to be one of the worst designed public housing developments in the United States.
