San Marino by Mr Miyagi
An entire country that fits within a 1:1 CS map? Yes! The world’s oldest (A.D. 301) and smallest Republic is the setting for this exciting, challenging map, and is very close to the real location.
The first in a series of microstate maps that fit into a CS map,
San Marino is a great map to use CRISGAMES’ Medieval buildings collection, found here: . One of the newest is a castle that is very close to the real one you see in the images and video. Here is the Castle as a Unique Building:
You might also consider the South of France building collection, or just plain vanilla looks great too! So of France housing:
No mods at all for this map! Reasonable number of trees, too. It is planted with Mediterranean climate vegetation: trees are generally more sparse, and have been chosen to reflect what you would see there.
The map is very close to real life, with some minor changes for game play. Monte Titano, where San Marino has its old city / fortresses, has been terraced with flat levels so that you can build a city that looks like the real place.
There are many, many water spawns, several of which have a deep well hidden visually. Although a stream might appear very small, if you place your water pump over one of these hidden wells, it will be drawing from a very deep section of the stream, hidden from view, but it’s there. You can figure out where they are by using the water overlay view, then looking for where the blue of a stream gets much darker in a spot. Place your well right over it.
Although much of it is buildable, most of it is sloped like the real place. There are flat areas, even two that are large enough for the giant international airport. I leveled out places all over so you can build small villages here and there.
25 tiles is recommended if you wish to spread out. This is a good map for a smaller city centers and many villages style. Of course, anything is possible, so have at it!
