Sandburg Village (RICO ready)
Sanburg Village is a series of upscale condos in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood near downtown. There are seven towers total, and this building is specifically based on one of them, the Dickinson House. This “urban renewal” project occupies about three blocks and provides luxury amenities, greenery, and quick access to transit. It’s tucked away, but just a step from the bustle of the city. These high rises, named after popular poet Carl Sandburg, went up in the 1960s, and clearly made an influence on the area – as you go up Lakeshore Drive, you can see that the city’s north side is lined with condos that look very similar.
This might be my most in-depth creation yet. While I was working on some more well-known Chicago landmarks, I noticed that the workshop doesn’t really have too many contemporary high rises (aside from that terrific Russian collection). I hope it can find a spot on your lakefront, or what have you.
