This is a Split Grid system. The grid seperates entrance and exit traffic, and is probably best connected to a T intersection straight off a highway.

The entrance traffic is forced to go left or right, and hopefully has enough space to give traffic enough time to change lanes. The grid is designed to pull traffic off the road just a few times to minimize and spread the traffic burden across the city. Exit Traffic comes from 2 main roads and joins together.

Hopefully this helps solve your traffic woes, I welcome feedback. This is not the only grid like this on the workshop and is inspired by those grids which do things I personally disagree with, so I made my own.
