Tate Modern, London
A bit of national pride for my second contribuiton…
Tate Modern is the UK’s home of modern art and the 9th most visited museum in the world. The building started life as the Bankside Power Station built between 1947 and 1963. After the closure of the power station it is now one of the finest examples of repurposing old industrial architecture for the future rather than demolition.
There is currently an extension wing under construction but this model celebrates the building as it opened in the year 2000.
