The Pink Sedan (Simpson’s Family Sedan)
“Everything lasts forever.” – Homer Simpson S06E12
Homer’s car from the classic Simpsons was a 1973 Plymouth Valiant. At one point or another every family member has had a joy ride – even little Maggie Simpson. According to the Simpson wikia page, the car features a driver’s side airbag, a column shifter, a bent up radio aerial, and a Trackstar 8-Track radio. Of course not to be missed, this baby features the minor damage on the left front fender. The Simpson model of the car was made in Croatia out of old Soviet Tanks. However further research suggests, the Valiant was only built as far east as Western Europe.
The Plymouth Valiant was built between 1960 and 1976. The car was considered to be both durable and reliable, sustaining Chrysler during that era of the Cold War. This would seem to hold up for the Simpson family as well.
The one time this car remains in perfect condition is during the credits; apt for the show as many a time this car is totally destroyed and back to near iconic perfect condition.
