The 01 Series trains operated along the Ginza Line. The trains first entered service in 1983 and operated until March of 2017 when the last set was removed from service. The 01 Series trains are succeeded by the 1000 series trains. The 01 Series trains were one of three sets of rolling stock which used a third rail as a means of collecting electricity.
