TTC Orion V CNG
Based off the design used in Toronto by the TTC.
In the early 1990’s the TTC (and many other agencies) began to take in CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) buses; Toronto specifically had 25. These buses made by Orion International had a distinct cap on their roof and came in two models, one with a Wheel-Chair lift and one without. This asset is based off of the Lift version. In Toronto’s case these buses were eventually converted to diesel since the promised cost savings of CNG never materialized. By the end of 2004 all the CNG buses were converted to diesel.
